Composite Hoses

Composite Hoses produced by UZM

Composite hoses are a type of flexible hose that is widely used for the transfer of various liquids and gases in a variety of industries. These hoses are made of a combination of materials, with an inner layer of thermoplastic or fluoropolymer material reinforced with layers of synthetic fabrics such as polyester or nylon, and an outer layer of thermoplastic or PVC material.

Multiple layers of spirally-wrapped thermoplastic fabrics and films are held together by a metal inner and outer wire helix in composite hoses.

Composite hoses have several advantages over traditional rubber hoses, including superior chemical resistance, higher temperature tolerance, and increased flexibility. They are commonly used in the chemical transfer, oil and gas exploration, marine loading and unloading, cryogenic applications, and food and beverage processing.

Our composite hoses are made with internal and external wires made of stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, or specially coated steel. We can line our hoses with Polypropylene or PTFE depending on the chemical compatibility.

Composite hoses produced by UZM are lightweight and flexible, making them easy to handle. Their multiple layers design prevents catastrophic failures. At low and even cryogenic temperatures, flexibility is maintained. The tough, PVC Nylon impregnated outer covers of hoses protect them from corrosion and attack by other liquids, UV and ozone.
